Weekend Photo Fun starts early.
I started to repaint some McCoy passenger cars. This is still a work in progress.

Lots going on this week......
Working on the modular layout, setting up our small layouts at the Chesterfield County Fair and some significant progress on the Oblong Box and Hamper Company.
This is where I was last Saturday......
Adding the siding
Have a great a safe weekend folks!

Was cleaning out excess photos on my cell phone and came across a few interesting images of the layout...
A Trio of PRR SD-45's roar through the farmland in central Pennsylvania:
The engine servicing facility and rounds at East Altoona:
Next, some sand hoppers lined up and waiting to be filled at the PA Glass Sand plant near Mapleton:
And finally one of my favorite little details on the layout, a draining pipe along with a photo of the real thing:
That's it for this week...enjoy!

Scott, so are you turning the McCoy cars into these beautiful Alaska RR cars or are they still in primer?
Peter nice progress on the Box!
Neal, great work on the drain pipe. Did you use plastic wire loom for the corrugated pipe. Your water is incredible.
Sirt unbelievable attention to detail and weathering skills as usual. Or should I say totally believable.
This set was a bit of a wreck when I received it...
Hello all. I went to the basement to apply another coat of paint on a forklift that will be part of my AFT train, when I noticed my yard was kind of full. Looking at it there were many different types of cars representing different roads. It wasn't too long ago that all I had were PRR equipment, but my effort to diversify my cars to better reflect reality (1949 era) is paying off.

Yes the end result will be Alaska cars. I have had those two cars for a couple of years now and finally decided to paint them. A friend recently rode the Alaska train and it hit me. As far as I know there are no Alaska Tinplate sets. It's a great color scheme so I decided to make a set. I will still need to find at least one more McCoy car to get it done right.
Awesome job Scott. That is a great livery for tinplate.

Nice photos Stang! Is that a K-Line diesel fueling station? Love that Good Humor truck.
Coach Joe: That is actually a MARX fueling station that I painted a bit.

Wow a triple header, that must have been some load! I’d like to see another shot showing the whole engines.
Stang, I knew a lot of the early K-Line stuff was from Marx molds, that's why I asked.
My family and I rode the 1309 yesterday. We had a great time. The engine was beautiful, and the sounds and smells too. So glad to finally lay eyes on it after so many years of waiting.
Now, I need Lionel to make a scale Legacy model of the Western Maryland 1309.
