Hi everyone. It's that time again! This is a American Flyer wide gauge car that was in pretty rough shape when I got it. Did a restore on it and this is the end result. Now let's see your tinplate!

Daniel, Nice set; is this 1 gauge or 0 gauge?
Here is a CR (Rossignol) Eclair streamlined clockwork trainset. It came with some accessories including a tunnel, however the tunnel is a bit small for the train! And the water-tower is only 2 dimensional. This set is from the years between 1939 and 1950.

Our tour of railway facilities crosses the English Channel from the UK to la belle France. We are at Arras on the old Chemin de Fer du Nord. The Hornby version of a Nord Pacific (minus one set of drivers) has just emerged from the shed to find itself surrounded by visitors from the PLM including 2 Hornby Bugatti railcars and two streamlined steamers. Hard to find Hornby Wagons Lits Pullmans made in France and one of the Est Saucisson coaches complete the scene.

I forgot to mention that all of the trains shown except for the JEP SNCF streamlined locomotive are Hornby.

Sorry Fred, i missed to be more precise, it is O gauge.
Nice set from CR you show us, those little sets have a specific appeal when they are in such good condition. An very nice video too, i think i have seen all of your videos and it is always a great pleasure for me to see your trains in action.
Just picked this #520 search light car project up. I think I have everything but one nickle railing. Hopefully that wont be too hard to find.

Hafner Litho 1110's. These are usually seen all black or black with a red boiler front. Others were red with a black frame. There is also a copper with black frame I would like to find some day.

Hi Jim. I can't speak for Rob but the red one is the presidents speacial "American Flyer wide gauge" new issue from MTH/Lionel corp. The blue one behind it looks like the same engine but I don't recall seeing a dark blue done in a recent catalog? This is mine below with PS -3.
Chris....really appreciate your response! Can you tell me the MTH stock number for your red engine AND for the tinplate cars behind the engine? Many thanks...Jim.
Here ya go Jim. The locomotive: 11-2031-1. Proto 3
11-2032-0. Traditional version.
11-40072 passenger cars.
They are from the Lionel corp 2012 catalog.
Hi Jim. Here is a link to mine running on my layout.
Wow Chris....great layout and videos. And thanks so much for the info !! Jim
Chris, finally found the set in the 2012 volume. They had the engine listed as 11-2031-1. Now I just need to find out about the darker blue version of the President's Special which Rob English posted with the red version. Rob, if you are reading this, please let me know the stock number for the blue engine. Thanks very much. Jim
Jim,
Try 10-1196-1 from 2003 via the MTH product locator.
Thanks John!!! Locator does not show a pic, but I suspect that may be the engine. Or, were you able to see a pic when you accessed it? Jim
Hi Jim,
I did not see images there either. Try www.google.com and enter "mth 10-1196" without the quotes. Then choose "images" and you will see plenty!
Thanks again John...I should have thought of that myself....time for me to wake up!!! Jim
You are welcome Jim! No problem.
I'm wondering if the dark blue version could be a nicely done restoration?
Hey Rob! Inquiring minds want to know!
Chris, John Holtmann directed me to the following...that appears to be the one Rob posted:

I would say so! Any idea when they were made? I've never seen this set before but it is beautiful! Learn something new every day.
