I have been slowly working through a long list of things I want and it occurred to me that I may be missing something that I have forgotten.  Once I get one of the items on my list I am not opposed to attempting to upgrade to a modern featured version.  Modern to me would be better sound and at least TMCC control.  As i have decided my collection needs to be primarily traditional Lionel and 027 sized items the upgrades aren't always easy.  Not a lot of Legacy in traditional sized stuff.

So for whatever on a beautiful cold Friday here is the list for me.

Crossed off!

Texas Special ABA (Just need the right B unit)

Santa Fe F series ABA

Virginia  FM (still need bay window caboose)

Southern Crescent Limited 4-6-4

Girl's GG-1 set

UP Diesel and matching passenger cars

Pennsy Turbine with passenger cars

Polar Express set

Silver Bells set

Still acquiring

N&W 611 and matching cars

Southern Pacific Daylight set with matching cars

Santa Fe Blue and Yellow ABA

Any CSX diesel

Girls Steam Set

Chessie Steam Set

Blue Comet (non tinplate)

A rather iconic but eclectic mix.  The only other thing i can currently add to it would be one of Lee Willis's used steam locomotives.  i would hold that in high reverence!

I generally prefer passenger trains as i could never afford them as a child ( can barely afford them these days) and love trains made up of at least 6 cars but have 10 Pennsy K lines that look beautiful behind my Turbine and I now have 12 Polar Express coaches! I have always thought that an AA or AB or even ABA pulling 3 passenger cars was a bit silly.

Also would include the new Big Boy but it requires such a large radius that it is impractical for me to own one.

So what's on your list?

I have most of my original "must have list" that I made ten or eleven years ago when I got back into O-gauge: Big Boy, Challenger, Allegheny, Yellowstone, H-7, and all the big articulated locos, and many, many more.

I have one arriving later this afternoon: a PEE S-1 (Mth Premier), and I recently added another, Dreyfus Hudson (also an MTH Premier).  The only loco left on my original list is a UP propane turbine.  Eventually no doubt MTH will ship that.

But my "must have" list has grown, mostly with smaller locos.  I want a really good (Vision, Legacy) decapod, and a model of the 3765 class ATSF Northerns, and both a Gresley A-3 and A-4 Pacific, again, detailed, very very good sound, etc. I'd like a good 2-4-4-2 also, and a Brookville DES-70B (which eventually I will get to making out of a BEEP if need be).

I am sure there will be a few more on it down the road.

First off a 1953 to 1957 steam era N&W cabin car, CF or CG.

I'll also vote for that, and purchase 2 of them.

A Southern High Nose GP-30.

Arn't these listed in the current/latest Lionel catalog? I know the high-nose N&W unit is listed but, WAY too expensive for me.

These will/would rally like to haves.

Hot Water, being cataloged is no assurance that it is going to happen.  All depends if others like myself put there order in.  I am just hoping it will happen based on Lionel's approach to tooling for the GP-30s.
