Recently I received an email from Lionel with a sale for online refurbished product.  I purchased a Cabbage as well as a 86' boxcar.  Lionel shipped the boxcar and it is in route, but there was no info regarding the Cabbage.

My question is does "partially fulfilled" mean that the rest of the order is still in process or that Lionel will not complete the rest of the order as the item sold out?  I'm not particularly concerned either way, just thought a Phase III Amtrak F40 NPCU would look nice on the opposite end of my Phase III heritage Genesis.

As most of you do, I don't often purchase Lionel products so I don't know exactly how their site works on closeouts.

Thank you!

I would expect it still to come unless they tell you otherwise.

Maybe the cabbage went thru some kind of extra inspection process?

When I purchase parts from them, although I don't get a lot of info, the parts arrive fast. I just placed another order so I too will be watching to see what they ship.

If you send them an email, they also answer pretty fast in my experience.

I will have to order again. I couldn't sleep last night and my mind kept wandering. Finally it came to me why my 2 railed tank cars had no sounds. I put them on the outside mainline that goes to a Z4000 handle. I bet it was turned up too high. I always keep these on my inside main with the 180W bricks. The grandson ran a big train and I forgot when I put them in line. I wish Lionel would make their products handle more than 18 volts!!

So I may need new boards, again.

Edit : today, they work! Must have needed that day off?

Joe,

Thanks for the response.  I also sent a note to Lionel and they responded this morning that even though I was able to order it and pay for it online, they could not fulfill the order as the item is now out of stock.  Not a big deal, just wish they had clarified that in their original email.  Seems odd.  It was a closeout so I'm not complaining.  I wasn't charged for it ultimately.

Glad you got your car Joe!  I won't be getting the F40 NPCU it appears.  Lionel's email back to me was it was sold out even though it wasn't when they took my order.  The price was $130.00 which I thought was too good to be true.  It's really not a big deal to me and they aren't worth the $350 for a non-powered unit in my mind.

While 350 is a bit pricey, you do have to consider that the Cabbages from Lionel are the first and only correct model of the Cabbage in O scale.
