Man, these are all nice, but my trains were built to run. I'm an operator. I don't care what it is, there's no shelf queens here. Something in great condition can be handled with extreme care & still run. I will admit it tho, I'm not above wearing gloves or using a cloth to unwrap a train & set it out to run or work on so as to not cause any maring of the paint or details.
This one is under glass and will never run. It was made for me by my daughter at Christmas a couple of years ago. It is printed/fabricated 100% from regular letter size paper using a Canon ink jet printer. The wheels even have flanges on them.

That is neat and unique. I would like to know more about this GG-1 piece.

Quite a work of art. I remember many years ago an HO Big Boy made of gold. Some people are gifted.

For those that are interested, the pattern is available on line at:
White Pine,
that GG-1 is absolutely beautiful. As a gift from your daughter you should keep it as a permanent keepsake. You have reason to be proud.
Frank, nice display! Prior to collecting and running trains I was a collector of 1:18 scale MOPAR muscle cars. It's amazing how collections can get out of hand and there just wasn't enough room for large cars and large trains. I'm envious of anyone that still has both. Of course my car collection was an attempt to fill the void for giving up my real '71 Challenger and '69 Charger long ago. Oh to be able to go back in time and not make that mistake again!

Nick,
At one time I had over 400 1:18 scale diecast autos! I thought one day I would display them all. What was I thinking? I whittled that down to what you see in this cabinet.
One of the biggest regrets of my life was selling my 1972 340 RoadRunner years ago for $900. I took care of that regret by buying this 1971 383 RoadRunner 2 years ago:

Frank, that Road Runner is awesome!! Is it a 4 speed? Sorry for getting slightly off topic but I saw another Mopar and I had to do it!
Here's mine:

You guys just brought a tear to my eye with those cars. Very nice!
Frank, you just reinforced why people display things. I couldn't imagine how much room 400+ cars in boxes would take up. My cars sat in their boxes the entire time I owned them and then the trains did too for several years. For that reason I make no apologies for having them "behind glass". Looks way better than having to look at my trains in boxes when they aren't running. They still come out and run, but even if they didn't they are still ours to do what we want with.

I like to run everything I have. However Trains like fine firearms can be considered art and bring joy just sitting on a shelf where I can view them frequently.
Very nice AF steamer. I have one O gauge cast iron one and want to get a few more.
