To be honest, I'm just trying to save myself some research, homework, and time. Of all the Lionel operating accessories I have, my grandson seems to like the only manual one I have the best, the Forklift Platform. He literally spent almost an hour playing with that the other night, loading trailers, cars, Minecraft figures, Pokémon characters, etc., even a few Octonauts got thrown onto a flat car!

So what other manually operated Lionel accessories exist?

GEOPEG  , There is not a lot of manual operated accessories out there . Mostly military themed , there's the rare No. 347 cannon firing range set from 1964 , the No. 443 missile launch with exploding ammo dump 1960-62 , the No. 470 missile launch with exploding target car 1955-62 and the No.462 derrick platform from 1961-62 . The last one is similar to the NO. 460 piggy back transportation set that you already have .  Hope this helps. Jim

There was a manually operated Gantry crane in the early 1970's. I think the number might be 2302 or 2303.

The postwar derrick platform is quite hard to find and expensive, but there is also a Modern era remake. Even it is somewhat hard to find.

Most of the other accessories Jim listed were remade in the modern era as well.

In the MPC era, most of the manual operating accessories were building kits.

Perhaps the most complicated was this one, the 2175 'Sandy Andy' gravel loader:

It was reissued later on by Lionel Trains Inc., item no.12712. Somewhat hard to find, and also even harder to get working right.

The 2788/12736/12904 coaling station kit was another one. This has been reissued a few times by current Lionel, too.

I also hooked up a Lionel 45N gateman to a dashboard switch (instead of the track) that the youngsters love to click back and forth to make the little gateman and his lantern pop out whenever they want. Manual switches along the front of the layout also are fun for them to operate. And the best of all is an old Tech II Sound Generator 8000 that lets them slide a whistle or horn and speed up or slow down chuffs or diesel sounds. They love that (most of my engines do not have sounds)
