I'm looking for those things that can suspend an O gauge locomotive an inch or two off the track but still supply power to it so you can spin the wheels and try the features on a single piece of track. I don't even know what to look for! What are they called?

Tom - As has been indicated on previous Searches on this Forum, among other retailers Micro-Mark markets these rollers in various gauges, 4 per box in 0.
Thanks X2!!!! I knew about those rollers but I didn't know how to even describe them in the search box!!!
A fellow who would set up in the Silver Hall at York built and sold a marvelous test jig with 4 of the rollers that would slide along a 3 foot assembly that included a fixed section of track to put a trailing tender or other cars. I have the jig but he never put his business name on it so I don't know how he can be contacted or if he is still in business. Maybe someone here may recall his name.
See this thread about making your own.
I didn't realize they made these. Just looked at Micro Marks website and they are on sale for $41 for a 4 pack. List price is $75.
So what do you call it? A running display jig?

I call/identify mine as Dynamic Test Stand(s).

Here is my MTH UP Challenger running below my ceiling...
Use the key word "Rollers" i.e. Engine testing Rollers, Test stand rollers, Roller Stand, Roller test stand, etc.
If you are interested in a test track check out Gary at Gooddealsdcc.com. Super nice guy and not pricey. I got a 36in O gauge test track built and wired to a nice PVC stand for $50. I ordered it yesterday after speaking with him over the phone to answer a couple questions I had. I ordered a set of rollers from Micro Mark for $41 to use as well. I plan on just using it conventional with my Z1000 brick and a controller that came with it that I never thought I would use. I can put it next to my layout to if I want and use it with command control too.

Just need something to support the tender for my steamers since the locomotive will be elevated on the test rollers.
