Last year, Big L finally came out with a Legacy SD45, but also no mention, or further expansion of that product line. At least they could have done the EMD Demonstrator scheme-one that should have been in the introduction of this model.

I would expect that once the first run of SD45's get released and Lionel sees the feedback. Similar to what has been done with the SD40's.

I don't typically express my wishes for things to be made, nor any disappointment when new catalogs come out. I actually got a couple secret wishes in this one, so I'm quite pleased.

There is one thing that I wanted to see, and it is something that Lionel is already producing. The problem is that they aren't available for sale yet. I want the new Lionscale trucks to re-truck my old Weaver fleet.

Not a very glamorous request, I know, but that's something I could really use.

The Brookville BL20G / BL20GH.  There are 16 in service, at the moment; 12 BL20GH types at Metro North and 4 BL20G types on Staten Island Railway.  The BL20G is designed for freight service and could be painted for a variety of regional and short lines.  To the best of my knowledge and ability to search Google's database, no one has produced a model of this locomotive in any gauge/scale, to date.

In contrast, PRR bought 1, yes only ONE S-2 steam turbine locomotive and it was a flop. Undeterred, Lionel has issued several iterations of the S-2 on multiple occasions.  So has MTH.

The comments above indicate that most folks are disappointed in the most recent catalog for its lack of variety and new products.  We all complain about the prices and the quality issues but then save our milk money in order to buy our heart's desire, when such is offered.

The BL20 is a mid-size locomotive of distinctive appearance that would look at home on and be able to negotiate virtually any layout, regardless of size, in passenger, freight or work train service and there's even one on Metro North painted up in the McGinnis livery.  Sadly, I am forced to look to MTH for interesting diesel power and find it.  My one foreseeable locomotive purchase for 2017 will be a MTH GE 44 Tonner in B&O.

C'mon, Lionel, be more creative!

David,

I was kind of hoping for another Northern Pacific, Black and Gold Legacy GP9, to run a double header Legacy NP GP9 Military Consist behind.  I have the Scale,  JLC TMCC GG1 you sold me and my  MTH P2 GG1 running the military consists, in opposite directions now, I was hoping to add the Legacy NP GP9's also.
