What's Next - Hologram Special Effects?

Might as well fold in the old standby, smoke. With holograms, smoke can now be black, with no smell or residue. Whistle vapor can now be on every engine, as well as other emissions.

Backdrops with animated clouds and planes. Animated crews and passengers on trains. Moving traffic on roadways. 

Well, of course, this would have to take place in the far future, but they are just now getting into developing moving holograms so it's not too far beyond belief for us to see it in toy trains at some distant point in time.

My initial knee-jerk reaction to this is to ridicule it... until I remember that the first commercial radio broadcast occurred less than 100 years ago and here we are at flat screen 3D teevees, not to mention toy trains crammed full of voodoo whiz-bang.

Egad!  It could happen!
