When I first started railfanning WE with my friend Dale in 2022, the most "regular" trains were the road jobs, 218 and 618/617, plus 643 to Westland. With a falling-off in production at the frac site, and volatility in Connellsville traffic, the local freights which previously ran at night started to more frequently run in daylight, with 610 - 614 symbols. While these trains do not run far enough east to hit the most dramatic of the Pittsburgh Sub's trestles, they are now the most consistent, most likely opportunities for those looking for any Pittsburgh Sub traffic that (sometimes) runs with the light. This video is a compilation of a few separate efforts to chase trains to the more southern, more frequently used of the Pittsburgh Sub's branches, which runs to an interchange with Norfolk Southern and connection with the Union Railroad at Clairton.
