I am looking for ALL kinds of random parts to rebuild a decent size collection that was destroyed!
Most of the trains are from between 1953 to mid 1960(s).
I need everything from shells to screws and everything in-between!
Any recommendations besides eBay?

You can consider Henning's Trains, they have tons of parts of that vintage.
I have order from all three, sometimes one vendor has an item that the others don't. I do like the Train Tender's bulk pricing which is helpful for common screws, bulbs, and other similar items.
I use Train Tender for my postwar trains.
Train Tender Jeff Kane great turn around!
Thank you For all your recommendations!
I need to make a list of everything I need and get started.
WWW.TTENDER.COM Jeff Kane,the best.....
I have to jump on the bandwagon and say Jeff from Train Tender is your best bet for you needs.
When it comes to screws, washers and wire, do you use Lionel specific or do you have a local supplier?
I know Lowes has “some” basic sizes and our Ace Hardware has a bit more.
I have a local Fastenall, but I know sometimes you can’t purchase a single needed screw.
How about recommended cleaning products?
I know there are a TON of threads about this topic which is the PROBLEM! There are a TON of threads and nothing “definitive”.
I have:
QD contact cleaner
All purpose machine oil
Labelle 108
MG Carbon Conductive Grease
Dishsoap
WD-40
Rather than buy individual screws, I have a large assortment of screws of various sizes in metric and SAE sizes. I find that by shopping around, I can find a screw kit that has a bunch of sizes and lengths. Also, don't discount having something like the VACO crimp tool that has an excellent screw cutting feature. I found a similar tool for metric screws as well.
working with metric Phillips screws i highly recommend a set of JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD JIS screw drivers....will fit foreign (CHINA) screws no slipping....joe

PLEASE start a new, separate thread on this. The two topics, parts and cleaning supplies, are too important independently to be intertwined. It will avoid much confusion.
