I have been in the O gauge model train hobby 4 years now. (But loved trains all my life) I live way out in the country. I have no live train buddies. As well as what I might pick up at York to add to my modest layout I would like to meet some of you guys & gals. What venue at York (on Friday) would be the best place to meet most forumites?

Michael,
That's easy - 2:00 pm at the Grandstand for the OGR Forum meeting!
Where is that grandstand Barry?

You'll see it! . If not, you need your eyes checked!
Also many wear badge holders that have the OGR Forum Member tag on it. Also just keep an eye out in the halls. You may recognize one by their avatar.
Some of us wear the OGR Forum jerseys that we bought a few years ago. Some are grey and the newer one is black. They have the OGR logo and many of us got our names embroidered on them.
Sorry, no picture

Michael, there will be another FINN OGR guy in the Black Hall on Friday, 3-5:30. Running conventional on the Trackers layout.
Anybody with 2 K's and an "anen" has to be a FINN.......

Another thing no one has mentioned. OGR has a booth in the Orange Hall. You'll always find OGR staff and forumites gathered 'round the booth.
You'll get to meet a ton of them at Thursday at Tuesdays, and also at the Legacy breakfast on Friday morning. Of course, the OGR grandstand event at 2:00 on Friday is another common meeting place.
The Grandstand is behind the Orange hall, and as mentioned, it kinda' stands out.
Michael.....I'll have my OGR shirt with my name on both days.
No bow-tie this trip.....I'm going causual.

For Friday, the Grandstand Meet is best. Try to get there early in order to have a chance to meet and chat with people as the presentations begin pretty promptly at 2:00. I usually get there around 1:30 or so and there are usually people already there by that time. See the image below as to where the grandstand is and what end to go to:

I knew April York would not be like Fall york.. No bow tie, no reason to go for me
How's anyone gonna recognize him??? It would be like trying to recognize Scott and Mike without their hats!

And proud of it.
With no bowtie, the only way to see him is with his stethoscope!
I plan to wear my black Lionel shirt with my OGR Fourm name tag. Stop and say hello.
