Thank you Ado from Millersburg. Love that set, don't know how I missed it.
Another winner, winner , chicken dinner. Send Batman up to Snob Hill! Cannot over ado the ado's!
Nice whistle for sure. I think some of these older loco sounds hold up very well especially the Hudson's.
Very nice! Sure beats Sante Fa if you have to dig deep.
Finally some reinforcements to help drive off the aliens. Batman needs Robin there to assist.
Happy Easter.
Great looking engine and consist. There is a period when Lionel made great engines in the late 90's. Today we have many more sound effects and smoke units. But that 13 year old whistle blasts better than anything I have.
Thanks Laz. I always enjoy seeing your extensive collection in action.
Thanks GUYZ a for the CONGAs!!! Happy Easter to all my WSWV Friends!!!
Way to go, LAZ!! That is a perfect blend of modern technology, scale size, and prewar/postwar nostalgia rolled into one fantastic set. The diner shows up every so often. My 5433 is at Alex's shop, where he's going to upgrade it with a fan-driven smoke unit and 4 chuffs/revolution. Gotta love that whistle!!
Thanks JOHN, that is what I am thinking with this engine. Hope to see you at YORK. PAM and I will be there on Thursday and then on Friday I’ll be there with my brother and friends.
I enjoyed the video as usual George.
I'm so glad I grabbed this engine before the "trainflation" happened. They're much more scarce now, and expensive.
IMO, overall fit and finish is better that the newer Legacy versions. A Pittman motor, and nice tight tolerances on that Korean built chassis. These should run forever. TMCC steamers are like the Briggs & Stratton of the hobby.
Some of the Legacy sounds are getting a bit "cookie cutterish". Having a mix of TMCC stuff keeps things interesting for your ears. I'll be looking into a 4 chuff upgrade in the future as well.
Thanks RICKO!!!!
Yes totally agree with your assessment of this engine. As I stated in the video, at YORK in the Red Hall a guy had the entire set at $545.00. I was looking at it the same time PETE aka NORTON saw it, and we were both in awe of the price he had on it. We both met up for the first time had a nice conversation about that engine along with other things. We agreed the engine alone would be a bargain, but we both already had it and passed on it. I might have to check and see if he does still have it there come April 20 th?
Yes I might do the upgrade on the smoke unit, get a fan driven unit and the four chuffs. But the whistle is totally awesome!
Happy Easter RICKO!!!

No York for us this time, LAZ. Sue is taking a photography class, and the last day of the class is the day that would otherwise be our travel day. She is really good with the camera, so I'm trying to encourage her to pursue photography. I, on the other hand, don't need any encouragement when it comes to the trains.
I didn't get to watch the whole video yet, been working OT and hitting the bed early. I was lucky to get one of these as well last year. I think I will consult the Harmon Shops on some work on this to improve it's overall look. I wonder if this was one of the engines that made it to "Super" Hudson status?
Thanks DAVE. I think you are right about this being a Super Status Hudson. If I remember this is the one people went nuts for when it first came out. Seems like Lionel used this tooling for their VL model. PAT a will work some magic on your Hudson, Good Luck!!!!

Yeah, right now Pat has a few things of mine he is working on as well as mending. One is the PRR H10 Consolidation with the drifting gear. I have a bunch of K4 Pacific's and Mikado's which will also need the gearbox fix. A few other things are modifications which will be gotten too at some point in time. Just a question of him getting stuff clear and having more time and of course, me sending them, lol.
Well, I finally got back here to watch the rest of the video. Pretty cool how you got this set. Mine I got lucky by the same sort of chance, but had to pay more. Either way it was worth it for me.
I'm still thinking of a couple of other projects to start getting ideas by fall most likely. I really want to see about making a super Hudson but will have to talk to Pat on best ways to go about that. Yeah there are tons of options, it is just finding a locomotive that fits the bill from the start. You don't want to have one that you need to do a ton to just to get it's feet(or wheels) in the roundhouse.
