For those of us not able to make the pilgrimage to Chicago, the next best thing in the east is the Strasburg show, which happens this Saturday.

I'll have a table with a variety of rolling stock, kits, parts, buildings and lots of trucks to offer.

Who among my friends will I be fortunate to see?

I will be there with 5+ tubs of cars (several brass cars), structures, kits, scenery supplies, and "stuff" to sell.

I will also have the OST mag back issues, etc. with me -- special note - issue #96 is in the mail to subscribers.  If you usually buy your mag off the rack. you will not find #96 there due to WRP having to reconnect distribution -- so see me on site to get your copy!

This is a two rail only show but there is always stuff available for anyone modeling in 1/4":1'

Little people, buildings, many different RR  magazines,  occasional 1:1 stuff,  street vehicles, RR cars priced right, convertible to 3 rail,  Kadees galore,  wheel sets,  oddles  of Weaver 2 & 3 rail loco parts, etc, etc,

Come for the show then take in the entire RR  neighborhood.  It could very well take a whole weekend.   All welcome.

Well I was there. Mainly a 2 rail show BUT some 3 rail and tinplate was injected in the show( thanks to me) I thought the turnout was OK. There were some good deals-especially in the freight car area. I picked up issue #96 of OST which may not be able to make the hobby shops and bookstores since the mag is in transition to White River. I also purchased an undecorated Weaver Models high sided 4 bay hopper that I will repaint into Conrail H2 fleet.

Overall the food was good, comraderie was great, and the drive was really scenic! I also have to mention one is right in the capital of railroading- model and 1:1 so there is LOTS to do after 1:00 pm!

See you all Saturday- GREAT weather........

A lot better than the snow we had that one time,

I can tell you about snow. April 14' 2018, We are in the middle of a full-blown blizzard here in Sioux City.  I have an additional 2' overhang of snow on my roof. looks like about 8" with 40 mph wind all day. Heck of a Saturday in April.

Snow Bound in Western Iowa Dick

Another great Strasburg event.  Cleaned house of  a lot of overstocks!!  Thanks all.  Picked up 100' of track, a box of engine weights, paint racks, a string of hoppers  and a few cabeese.

A decent Williams cab forward went for $200.oo.

One knows they are not young anymore when rusty AEM-7's are lined up at the PA Railroad Museum.

Dick, there was some snow cones being sold  in town, does that count?

Thanks Rich Yoder& John Dunn for everything.

A great show as usual, and... as usual, picked up some very nice items.  Enjoyed talking with fellow scale model railroaders.  Follow up visit to Strasburg RR with wife and I enjoying lunch in their dining car.  Then a visit to Strasburg Train Shop for essentials typically not available at the train show.  Weather was great too- 85 degrees!  Superb day of railroad related enjoyment.
