This may have been mentioned before, but it has been a bother more lately as I am using the WiFi app more and more.
As the Premium app hasn't been released yet, I have been using my DCS remote to operate my track switches and action items. I noticed this problem when operating switches with the DCS remote.
Here is the situation:
I am controlling engine #1 (no relation to DCS ID) with the APP and I active a switch with the DCS remote. I then return to the app and switch control to engine #2. Even though the app shows that I am controlling engine #2, the commands are still issued to engine #1! Only after I switch to another engine (any active engine or engine #1) and issue a command (whistle, bell, anything) that I can switch back to engine #2 and issue a command successfully.
For now I have gotten used to operating the switch on the DCS remote first and then issue a command to the current engine before switching to the engine I want to control in the yard. This has caused a few mishaps in the switch yard and I suspect the problem will be less evident when the premium app is released. But could still cause problems when using the APP with the DCS remote especially with two operators using the different platforms at the same time.
I am using an Android Tablet and Phone and the problem persists with both. Curious if this is the case with the Apple phones and tablets.
