WiFi question

I have the first generation of TIU with the WiFi app running.  Now granted I haven't run it into the ground using the app but I haven't had any issues either.  This is also the first I've heard of this.  I've known other with the serial to USB adapters running just fine without issue.  I believe you are being told this in error.

I have the oldest version of DCS upgraded to 4.0 and have been told from multiple sources that DCS systems made prior to the ones with USB port have serious issues running the App.  

This is absolutely not true.

My original issue Rev G TIUs, upgraded to software version 5.0, have absolutely no problems running wifi.  They run it just as well as the Rev L I have.

This is also the first I've heard of this.  I have an older TIU running the newest code with WIFI and it runs perfectly.  Just make sure the TIU and WIFI adapter have the latest code in them.  You really only need a DB9 to USB adapter that works.  I have heard some do not.

Thanks for the responses.  I went to my LHS to order the WiFi module and someone in the shop warned me about the alleged issue.  I was looking for some reassurance before ordering it...

Please educate said LHS, in a nice way that they are full of you know what and to stop spreading misinformation.   Direct them to this forum if possible.

I just upgraded an old TIU and it is working fine with the wifi. This is on another post here.

I did. and I will be ordering it..    All I need now is a good USB to serial port wire to update my older TIU.   Any suggestions on which one is best for a laptop with windows 10?
