I recently replaced an existing PS/2 board with a PS/1 that I had around. My understanding is that the PS/2 headlights at the front and rear of my E9 units are 6V incandescent lamps.
I think I remember that the Blue and Green Directional light outputs on the PS1 board are configured to output 5.5 volts, and are current limited. So that means I can't power the lights form the PS/1 board, and I can't power them from track voltage without wiring the AC track inputs direct and swapping out for a 12V or 14V bulb (which I've done before). However, that just leaves "always on" lighting in both directions.
It would be nice to maintain directional lighting. There is a manufacturer that offers a 7.5V 0.1A 51-Ba9s LED bulb with built in resistor and a bayonet base mount that would fit the existing base. Will the output from the PS1 directional boards be enough to light this LED?
Thanks!
