This Locomotive & Tender tends to jump the tracks especially in the 0-72 curves. As I observe the locomotive going through a curve the inside duplex drive wheels rollover the inside/outside rail pulling the locomotive into and causing the locomotive & tender to derail. I looked at the duplex drive wheels and noticed quite a bit of play when moving the individual wheels back and forth. Is this common to this locomotive? Also, should the brass axle support bearings move as well or should they be mounted in a slotted fixed position on bottom of chassis? I thank you for your insights and replies.

I am not sure if this applies to your locomotive but a friend of mine had a Williams brass Duplex that had a similar issue jumping the 072 curves. I remember he realigned the curves and made sure the tracks were all level and flat. Also he minimized the gaps between tracks. That seamed to correct the problem. I have a  Williams Brass Big Boy ( 1989 vintage) that had that same issue with my 072  tubular track and after some track realignment it ran through the track  with no problems.
