I have a few questions about a Williams n&w 746 j i just purchased. Can a fan driven smoke unit fit in this? What type of bulb does it use bayonet or e10 screw base because I would like to place an led bulb in it. What is a good passenger car set to go behind the locomotive?

Around 1990 Williams included a POWHATAN ARROW consist among fully painted Crown Edition 15" aluminum passenger sets. That set looks GREAT behind a N&W J. Those sets have color window strips - another plus. Modelers with access to a printer and transparent photo paper can put photos of their families and friends in the windows.
I don't have one, but I think that engine uses an LED 6v headlamp that is powered off the smoke unit board like my 671 is. Box car Bill may be able to fix you up with a fan driven smoke unit. Thats where I got a kit for my 671. If you get a kit you have to swap out the head lamp for another LED like Evans designs sells.
