Notice although sponsored by the Friends of the 261, the 261 will not be in attendance. The cars will be added to Amtrak's Empire Builder.

But remember this...While riding the rails, enjoy freshly-prepared meals and libations knowing that you are supporting the restoration of the Milwaukee Road Steam Locomotive 261.

Well a one-way ticket cost $189.00 and with a scheduled run of 8 hours that comes out to costing the rider only $23.62 per hour
Not bad for a ride in the only existing Skytop Lounge Car
I've attended many Airshows that feature antique warbirds and from what I remember a 15 minute ride in a B-17 or a P-51 will cost say $450.00
Well, just my opinion but, I'll take a ride in a P51 for $450 to $500 any day of the week over riding in that nice, very quiet, Sky Top car. Especially since I've been in it anyway, behind 4449, back in 2009.
