I am now laying track on my layout.This time I want a passing siding.I am not real clear on how to set this up.So I thought I would run it by you guys.There is a passing siding near my home.Its the seaboard tracks between charottle and monroe(now csx).Still in use today csx will put a train there.If things get to tight and to acess a plastic plant.To pick up and drop off coverhopper cars.Any way any help from you. I will be very greatful.

Since your title specifically mentioned "wiring", use isolation pins on the center rail of each end the passing siding. Run (switched) power separately from your mainline. Not sure if you're talking conventional or command control, but this should get you started...

Well, for command it's just put in the track for the siding, no need for special wiring unless you want to shut down the power to the siding separately.
Depends on if it's for a "hold" or if you temporarily want to keep a train in there "off-line." If it's just for holding during operations, just wire it into the mainline. If you want to park a train or locomotives there, insulate the hot lead and feed the siding from a toggle switch. That way your engines and lighted cars don't sit there with the power on for extended periods.
