I have the Z stuff switch control that works with tmcc. I have the data wire driver that plugs into the command base. I am using legacy and tmcc so they are connected by a cable. I have attached the z-stuff part with the data wire to the tmcc base.
I can address and control the switches with my cab1 but not with the legacy remote. Any hints on what I need to do?

If I read your information correctly, you have the Data Wire Driver on the wrong fork of the Y cable. The cable marked "Command Base" goes only to the TMCC 9-pin connector. The cable marked "Serial Comm" should be driving your data driver.

Dale: It only fits on one side of the cable and that is where I have it. Starting at the legacy base the cable leaves the legacy base then plugs into the data wire driver and the data driver is then plugged into the tmcc base.
Don't you have the Legacy "Y" cable that comes with every Legacy kit? It should have a 9-pin male (pins) connector at the center of the Y labeled "Legacy Base", a 9-pin female (sockets) connector labeled "Serial Comm", and a 9-pin male labeled "Command Base".
Dale is right you have it plugged in the wrong side of the y cable.

When I was using the Legacy system I just plugged the data wire driver into the DB9 port on the Legacy base. No need for the cable at all since I did not connect my Command base. It just seemed to confuse the issue. Went back to the CAB-1 and have the Legacy System stored.
