just bought this, from Proser in Germany. Nicely thought out design, simple and effective.
Should have bought one before now!

Mine's home grown. Found a couple of soft foam packing pieces from something we bought. It works perfectly and the foam doesn't scratch the paint.
When I flip it over to work on the under carriage, the engine fits snug in between the two legs.
I have an aging foam cradle that I bought years ago from an on-line source. It looks like it's got many miles of use left, but it is getting a bit beat.
Can this Proses cradle hold a O scale big engine like the Big Boy?
Don’t see why not, that’s an MTH K4S for comparison.
the cradles are stand-alone items, so you could have as many as you wanted in line; just buy a longer section of the rectangular section that turns the cradle. I think for a Big Boy, or other very long loco, I’d buy two sets, and use at least three cradles.
It holds my die-cast Williams scale Hudson with no problems, in two cradles
I have both a Bowser O gauge and a G/standard gauge foam cradle that works for me. Also a large piece of flat foam for laying an engine on its side. Simplicity, effective and low cost. ☺
That Proses cradle from Germany looks like a precision instrument. What is the cost including import duty and shipping in USD?
It looks a lot like the one Micro-Mark sells for $79:
THANKS! That is NOT a bad price. ☺
Probably the same item, Prosers are a distributor, not a manufacturer.
I have a (rather elderly) foam cradle but I particularly don’t like putting my On30 locos in it, because of the detail.
Yep, its the same.
I have a foam cradle as well, and it works just fine.
I like the plastic rotating one, but can see it cracking easiley.
