I think the Hogwarts set is fine even though I'm not a big Hogwarts fan but the engine and cars I think are nice especially for the price point.  I would like to see it done in something other than a Christmas or Halloween theme.  I know they did the Shakespeare "Kinlet Hall" in 2008 which was a nice looking set but it would be nice to have something different.

With the Hogwarts prototyped after British and European steam, anyone craving for other than Lionel's Harry Potter or Halloween themed locos might want to check out MTH's extensive European and British style engine offerings.

The nice thing about the Kinlet Hall set is the trucks on the passenger cars and the frame on the tender were diecast, rather than plastic. It also had an electronice English whistle. It would be so easy for Lionel to do these again in Great Western and various British Railways liveries. I wish they would.

I have NO interest in HARRY.....but bought one for a good price.....plan to repaint it but have yet moved it into the shop to do so. The MTH stuff is duper nice but my interest in UK trains is not so great as to cover the cost of the MTH product.....but the $100 or so I paid for a Harry set w/o track or power was my level of commitment!!

Lionel did the Shakespeare Express Set (item 6-30084) in 2008 which used prototypical paint schemes on the locomotive and cars.  The set also had some quality upgrades when compared to the Harry Potter set such as a British sounding whistle, LED headlights, die-cast tender frame/truck, and die-cast trucks on the passenger cars.

So would I.
