Would Passive Mode solve running DCS with 4 blocks?

A friend of mine has an old school layout utilizing 4 separate track using 4 blocks and 4 ZW transformers. He has a DCS system but has never hooked it up. Would passive mode be the best way to tackle this? Would the power from the track possibly back fed into the TIU? Your input and opinions are welcomed.

There are several great threads regarding passive TIU usage with wiring diagrams and parts list (0.22uH choke, current protection devices, extra...) on here. I've read through several of them and downloaded the wiring diagrams. Searching for "TIU DCS passive" brings up many.
