Hey Pat, have you ever tried to browse yor site just looking for let's say, a new o gauge diesel. Or maybe a box car? 65 pages of results is little ridiculous. I've bought from you before and it was a good experience but finding what I was looking for was pretty cumbersome. and I've had a couple friends of mine say the same thing. I'd buy more stuff from you but just going to your site and browsing around takes the wind out of it.

I second that... better division of items would make that just looking then seeing something I gotta have experience much better and more likely happen more often. Websites that a hard to search find me less often shopping. I would spend more time equating to more spent if it were easier to shop.

By the way, I love that you are active on this forum and your great service. That definately needs to be mentioned.

This problem is not unique to Pat's site.  Several other dealers have websites with absolutely atrocious search-engine capabilities.  Not sure where the problem resides, but it's a complete turn-off to encounter a HUGE list of search results and then not be able to filter down to the more meaningful items. 

 

Yes... I'm the first to admit that there's always the telephone.  But why stand in the way of folks trying to spend good money online -- especially at the exact moment they're ready, willing and able to buy???

I have attempt to contact pat even by phone during hours and he does not answer. It seems impossible to contact him. How can I support the shop if I cannot buy on his site and cannot contact him through the phone?   Pat also does not return any messages sent on his site. I know I'm. It the only one that has this issue. I wish it would be fixed I would like to give my business to all these sponsors

I must be missing something.  It would not be the first time.

Go to the top the home page at Pat's Trains and click the "Product Search" button.

From there, you can either key in a search like "MTH Caboose" or a specific catalog number like "10-3047".

The exact results you're looking for will be returned to you.  IMHO, the fact that a broad search like "MTH Caboose" returns seven pages of items is impressive, not "ridiculous".

 

Try it, you'll like it.

I can tell you that our site is one of the better sites on the web. I know that our search function needs some attention and we are working on it as we speak. Our new pre-order section is going to be divided by catalogs. I can tell you that we always answer the phones and our tech service is one of the best. If you are having a problem contacting us please check the phone number. I can tell you as of today we have had over 4000 transactions with happy Customers. Geneic searches will give you a generic list.
