Oh yes! Sorta hard to forget that vintage of Merc. It was a great car. V8, great looks . . . it had it all.
The Harley dealership always attracts a lot of guys in suits and young kids, but neither group buys a lot. You wonder how many bikes will they really sell today.
Esteemed Forum Members & Sponsors,
Here is my first attempt at building up some interesting Vignettes...not even close to being finished yet, as more buildings and people still need made. So far this small scene includes only part of a gas station and previously enjoyed automobiles sales lot. Some workers are detailing the cars to ensure they look their best. It looks like there are some people who seem to already show new interested in these great cars!
Wish the weather was good enough for Convertibles this week!
D.

Sean, nice Crusader ad! Where did you find it? A stamp maybe?

Sorry I did not see this sooner. i three-wheeler would be an interesting project ut I have not tried to make one. It would be very challenging because of the three wheels (one or the other rails would have just one contact for electrical pickup) and size - have to a tiny motor, etc. I'm not sure if it could b e done or not but I am sure I'm not going to try.
Hey Adriatic - no, it was an image I found on the web. If you do a google search for "reading railroad crusader vintage ad" and then look under "Images", you should be able to find it.
I know the image, thought it may have been a stamp, or something. Its detail is nice, and it appears a bit weathered.
Zeke (Sean), I like the mood suggested by your photos.
Below, the crew of a passing steam train is treated to the sight of a game of tug of war at the station WPLA employee picnic.

Ever wonder how Tod and Buz got a new 'vette each season on Route 66? They did the American way, with the never-ending-payment plan. Tod is transferring luggage from the old car to the new while Buz picks up the keys from the dealer.

D Jag and Lotus Eleven Le mans: two of the all around sexiest sports racers ever built. Top of the line, though, are the three Troutman and Barnes Scarabs built for Lance Reventlow.
Oh crud. Now I'm starting to drool again.
Lee,
very nice vignettes!
Wouldn't be very tasty. And he isn't looking too sly At least make him rabid. Would a sane fox go after a mule? I've found them timid.(unless that hunter has a female dog in season along)
Paint him grey, Peter & the wolf.

I would have never guessed you have eaten a fox before. I have a better idea. The mule is rabid and the hunter is protecting the timid fox.
I've eaten wild game dinners in Upper Mi & Canada my whole life. I'll eat almost anything once. It might actually be good if cooked right, but my pals dad "Old Blue"(best slingshot on earth for many years) didn't do it justice.
Toasted ants, to octopus, even Natto. I don't judge taste with my other senses.
Adriatic - sorry for taking so long to respond. I did weather it a bit. It's just printed on regular printer paper and then I gently applied a little bit of gray and brown weathering powder. It does have some nice detail and does catch the eye.
TrainsRMe - Thank you!

Well I can say I have eaten food garnished with ants in Afghanistan( not by choice). The best was Gunnery at Graf in Germany. We shot a Boer Hog with a 50 cal. and our company had a pig roast that night on the range.. Of course the Range Mister was not happy but he too enjoyed the roast.

Awesome. I particularly like the clothes lines. I tried to final photo of the one I have in my tacky trailer park - but I'm at work and don't have most of my photos. Anyway, I think yours is fantastic.
How did you make it? Mine is thing styrenerod (it has what as supposed to be metal pipes not wood beams like yours, and thread with paper clothing.
Lee,
It's just 1/32 bass wood with thread. The clothes are shapes cut out of colored and patterned tissue thick paper found at craft stores.

More clothesline ....

An overhead image:...
What fun, Walt, everywhere we look! And that is a beautiful house (childhood home, if I recall your saying some time ago? You even got the sloped land this side of the yard accurate, right?)
FrankM
You notice everything Frank!!! The answer: yes.
The configuration of the back yard, including the placement of the clothesline poles, sidewalk, tree, and hedges, are all fairly close to being accurately placed.
Thanks for looking.

Yes, I remember what Frank commented about too. My Boyce Homested has the trees in the proper place, and the hill out back. Too bad I didn't include Mum's clothesline. It would have been off to the side. I built the outhouse but not the doghouse. Remember, I was working in N scale 25 years ago when I built mine.
