I have a ZW transformer running with a DSC TIU. Should I add additional fuse protection between the ZW and the TIU or connect the ZW to the TIU then add fuse protect between the TIU and the track??

Most certainly add some circuit protection between the ZW and TIU! If you add a good enough circuit breaker or fuse, you don't need to double-up with one after the TIU.
Hi, Thanks for the reply to my questions. But if there is a short on a track will it not be reflected in the TIU first and damaging the TIU before getting to the ZW ? Sorry if I am being confused.

The power has to come all the way from the transformer, and if you have fast circuit protection on the transformer, you should be fine. I run with four Lionel Powerhouse 180 transformers that have excellent fast electronic circuit protection. It's the only circuit protection used, and it's never been an issue. That's why I specify good for the circuit protection.
