My friend purchased a 0-6-0 dockside switcher which stopped working. The problem I have is we cannot figure how to get the Shell off? any suggestions on how to remove it from the bottom frame.

On the new one John....2 screws - one to the left and one to the right of the very front roller.
They are recessed.
Then 2 small screws on the back of the engine (not underneath) one on each side.
Total of 4 screws.

Thanks SOO line, I believe it is an older model ATSF no remote. I will look to see if they are there
Just had a look at my conventional Docksider and the screws and places appear to be the very same.
I see the area you are refering to, the rear screws are no problem however the receded screws I will need to buy a new Small driver that can reach the small screws, which I should be able to pickup tomorrow.

John, FYI, getting that locomotive apart isn’t too difficult. Putting it back together is tricky. Just be patient.
