Almost every year there are reports on the various conventions held during the summer months. It seems this year there have been no reports. Did anyone go to any of the conventions, and is there anything to report?

LOTTS/TTOS in Reno was great! I only attended the trading hall, auctions, and banquet and came away with some goodies, and had fun.

I worked the TCA National in St. Louis.  Near as I can tell (at least from what folks told me) everyone had a good time.  The tours were very good, the dinner boat ride on the Mississippi was outstanding, and there were some neat displays including one that was found in someone's attic and is a complete 1920's era grand terminal.  The trading pits were just OK; I didn't see anything in particular to spend my money on other than a new in the box PS1 SP SD9 and a reasonable price.  The banquet car was a Falstaff/Lemp old style reefer by Weaver.

P.S. Lionel was the only manufacturer to show up at the convention.  They were especially enthused.  Put on an hour seminar on new products including a demonstration of the new "simple" command system for the Thomas the Tank set.  And contributed lots of stuff for the auction and for table favors.  A special thanks to J Don Reece and Matt.  And Lionel in general.
