I just got invoiced by Charles Ro today for both items. Glad to know they weren't stuck in a container on a ship off California! lol. Looking forward to Christmas already.

Kind of mislabeled considering American Flyer started in 1907 and not 1946.
NWL
It is intended as the 75th Anniversary of S gauge which Gilbert released in 1946. I am sure you know that but there may be others who are unaware of the 1946 milestone.
Really nice 20th anniversary clock. Note the spelling of "anniversery" on the clock.
Is this the first year that American Flyer put out a musical Christmas car?
The answer depends on if we consider a reefer and a box car as close relatives. Christmas set 6-49621 from the 2009 catalog featured a musical reefer that plays 12 Christmas songs. It was not offered for separate sale.
All the cars and engine in that set were uniquely decorated. The engine and caboose were offered for separate sale but the painting and lettering were different. That set also contained the former K-Line 27"R track, but with Lionel stamped into it rather than K-Line.
I received both the 2021 Flyer Christmas & Flyer Anniversary boxcars. Sad to see that both apparently are decorated via the "ink jet" printing method. A very bumpy & somewhat off-focus finish. Could be my last buys from the modern day Flyer boxcar line.
That's a shame. Both of these cars should of been done with perfection. Lionel strikes out again.
