Is it possible that these have flicker free lighting? Also, are there marker lights, there is a black something on the rear of the picture but does not look like the right place for a marker light. thanks

When they were produced by MTH, they had marker lights; check out the MTH website to get a better description. So, I would still produce with marker lights.
Hopefully they improve the lighting circuit... the MTH version had the brilliant idea to limit voltage by undersizing the filter capacitor feeding the voltage regulator.
Buzzed like crazy on 18v until I ripped out the MTH circuitry and replaced it with a $2 eBay module.
