Just picked up a pretty decent original 219. I see the track camp comes down and screws to the rails to keep it from tipping, but what keeps the clamp up against the frame when being run?
there should be a spring clip in the middle of the frame that keeps the clamp up, but it is often broken or bent. I have seen people tighten the clamp screw to pinch the frame between the screw head and the clamp.
Went back to the diagram and while it is not shown, the clip and eyelet are called out. I just ran a coil spring over the shaft on the opposite side of the screw. The spring now pushed the assembly over and the screw head holds it up on the lip of the frame. Works for me.
Just ran the 219 and have come to the conclusion it will make a great tool in designing clearances on the layout. That boom has a really large swing and hits the wall unless turned inward a few degrees.
