224 smoke unit???

Was any version of Lionel’s 224 engine equipped with a smoke unit? If not, can I install a postwar smoke

Anything can be done, with hard work and major modification, but the 1938 tooling for the 224 and 1666 was modified substantially for 1947 to enable the smoke function. It would be easier to modify a 2026 to accept a 1947-1949 675 or 2025 motor for the 224 look.
