23796 (6-49806) Sawmill Gear | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

HI,

I need to find the nylon gear under the brass worm gear shown in the photo for my Lionel/AF sawmill # 23796. It has a few bad teeth... I've looked at Lionel's parts site and cannot find any info. Anyone have any suggestions?

The gear was sold as part of the gear box which is no longer available. A better option is to find a junk or parts only American Flyer version on the Bay. They ran forever and are very quiet. The mechanical parts will bolt on to your base.

You can get a brass replacement from Doug at port lines hobbies that will last longer than the plastic originals
