my lionel legacy dd35a's electro coupler will not close. Does any body know how to fix this?

First off, try some dry lube and use a small pick to reach in and work the plunger, it may be stuck. If it won't close at all after that, a replacement is only around $10, probably the easiest way.
I take them apart and fix them, but that involves removing the rivet and then installing a new rivet.
