I purchased a Rio Grande Veranda Turbine a few months back, SKU: 2133540. When I received the item, I found the antenna/roof piping stand offs near the back of the engine were not in place. When I reviewed the for sale listing, the photos did show these were loose. I went through the packaging and found 3 out of the four missing stand offs. I tried to get the replacement parts through Lionel, but they did not have any. So my next option was to make or have them made.
I reached out to Alan (AlanRail) and provided him with the measurements, photos, etc. Alan then provided me with the required parts. A big thank-you Alan for your work!
The replacement 3D printed parts came out great. Extremely little touch-up work needed. A dry fit and paint and install and my engine looks great. I used a chrome (silver) spray paint that gave pretty good results.
