Re: 400e grinding noise

I just purchased an early MTH 400e blue comet in mint condition, only problem is that it runs pretty rough at high speeds. It makes a kind of loud grinding noise (i lubricated everything. No reverse unit, only forward action. All the lights work and it seems to run pretty good aside from the grinding. Maybe itll go away with a good run in? I dont know. Thanks

I don't want you to wear your loco out for the sake of speculation. But if you post up a brief VIDEO of it making the sound, we might be able to help you better. Try to keep your phone near the loco, and film in "landscape" format.
