To reset the R2LC look at the engine manual. It tells you how to change ID and what code to use to reset the engine features. It is similar to setting a new ID with a few more steps. G

Well did the factory reset still no luck.Took it all apart no broken wires all harness connectors are in solid still no luck.Any other ideas or should I send it to lionel?
Into parts swapping to see which is bad, the R2LC or the Motor Board. G
I always swap the R2LC first, takes just a minute or two. The DCDR takes a bit longer, though if you insulate it properly with something under it, you can just lay it on top of the other one for a test. The drivers won't suffer with a short movement of the locomotive, but sustained running without a heatsink is not good.
Remember to reprogram the R2LC completely if you do a swap.
This locomotive doesn't have Odyssey, does it?

Just a quick thought. Have you tried turning the motor itself by hand, just in case it is stuck/stalled/jammed or similar? It could be that a simple turn or two will fix the problem, or it could be that the motor has died?
Not a bad thought Nicole, you never know.

Well I pulled it back appart for the 5th time checked the motor and linkage to the drive wheels.Everything seemed OK so I put it back together.I then thought what the he@@ Let me put it on the track and see one more time.Yep you guessed it....it works as good as it did when it was brand new.LOL so thanks to all of yooz ...youguys are the best.N.
Funny, I just had a N&W Y that had issues. After reprogramming still would not move. I took the DCDR apart and reinstalled it and low and behold it worked fine. G
Don't worry, it'll stop again at some point.
Actually I think those Lecco(sp) connectors as Marty has stated are the issues. There have been a couple of recent post were folks have taken apart the DCDR, reassembled as low and behold it works. G
I would put the blame on the Molex connectors more then I would the Leoco connectors.
