Before I tear into it and check the smoke unit, anyone have a quick fix? And yes, switch on bottom set to smoke

yup, no, cab-2...dont see a 'smoke' option on the pad for smoke, a few drops, yup on runs, etc., no smokey
What is the "pad"? Exactly how are you running this? More details helps us help you.
The SCREEN (pad) on the CAB-2 doesn't not show an icon for smoke
You're in the wrong engine mode. As a quickie, just press AUX1 and then 9, see if that helps.

Nope It wont run in 'legacy' mode where the smoke icons are. Only in TMCC mode. Tried 'CAB-1' mode and AUX1 /9 didn't do the trick Must be bad smoke units
TMCC mode has the smoke icons on the keypad.
not on mine, numbers on keypad only, no icons

TMCC mode does not have smoke icons. They have a minus sign (smoke off) and a plus sign (smoke on).

Yea, I realized that, still no smoke Oh well. I'll live with it.
