I have asked this question before ( without a clear answer)), but now have noticed some new forum members who may be able to shed some more light on the topic. Here's the question. There are some "Madison Hardware" cars of various colors-like black, silver, tan, etc., offered for sale on e-bay. I previously asked whether such color cars were indeed sold by Madison Hardware-and some OGR folks claim to have been at Madison Hardware multiple times, purchasing (and being offered) only the traditional Lionel colors for these cars ( yellow, red, blue and white). Some wondered whether anybody could have painted any cars for Madison Hardware. Others suggested that these different color cars could have been made when Madison closed and the molds for these cars were sold. So-is there anybody out there in this train-world who can shed some light on these cars? Thanks, turtle7
