Happy FEF here is my just arrived from Trainworld,  MOW Rail Bonder. I would have gladly given up Command Control for a horn and bell.

I was in the Lynbrook store this week Bob. They have all varieties of these critters in the display case. I'd have grabbed one but the trolley pole won't clear my upper level.

Have to go back for my RMT LIRR ore cars next week ( almost 2 year pre-order).

And a Babylon trolley may just follow me home 😁😁

As for the sound, I may add a RS board to my TMCC speeder.

800 is in for maintenance, I managed to toast the motor in it, and 2 other locos that were in a consist with it for that matter. I use a NCE DCC system and inadvertently bumped the throttle the 1 position, which let the consist crawl undetected until it stalled against a safety bumper at the end of the line. That wouldn't have been a big deal, but I got distracted for several hours and started working on a home renovation project, and forgot to power off the layout, When I realized I'd left the layout on I tried moving the consist but each one of those locos would shut down, anything 4 or higher on the throttle. Initially I thought I had fried its DCC board, but after troubleshooting determined it is the motors that are damaged. Lesson learned, never leave my layout unattended. Now to try to find some Pittman 8413B668 or equivalent 12v motors.

Love the photo, hate the back story.  Good luck hunting down the requisite number of motors.

Well here is my F.E.F. input, a day late.  Had a long day yesterday with an all day meeting then a dinner afterwork .  So here is my input for Friday (on Saturday).  This is a Konrad Dressler, 0-4-0 Clockwork locomotive from the 1950's.  Dressler started his company in 1917 made many different things including household items.  His clockwork trains began about 1936 but were interrupted by the war.  After the the war he brought out 0 gauge trains until about 1962 and then went into HO, the company ceased trading in 1970.

Dressler loco and tender side view

Here she is on my layout pulling a pair of Heinrich Wimmer, Nurnberg (logo HWN) from the 1950's as well.  These are quite lightweight so are an easy pull for the clockwork Dressler.

Happy Front End Friday (a day late)

Joe, bought those K-line AA had to be mid 90s they are nice looking for the money and great pullers, they pull 4 Rail King passenger cars with no issues. They are crazy in price now seen them go for 200 bucks. Mark

I've got two sets.  I paid $125 and $149 new for them.  They looked so much nicer than the Lionel NYC FAs available at the same time.  I sacrificed one of the unpowered units so I could have an AA set of Wabash FAs.  I had one powered and found a shell on eBay.  I have an unpowered Williams F3B and a powered RMT BEEF B unit so I have plenty of options, original A-A and Powered A- unpowered F3B, Two powered As and Unpowered A-powered BEEF B any number of arrangements.

Photos and video show Boston & Maine 2-8-0 Consolidation #2403 on my 12’-by-8’ layout. The locomotive is a Weaver die-cast model (1809LP) of a Baldwin Consolidation. Atlas O recently announced a new production run of these engines with PS3 electronics using the tooling developed by Weaver.

B&M #2403 was the last 2-8-0 to be retired by the B&M. It remained in passenger service around Boston until at least September 1954 and was scrapped in June 1955.

Happy FEF. I was hoping this NAVY GP9 would arrive in time for the birthday of the US NAVY; but it only arrived the other day. I picked it up from METCA on Wednesday. So here it is complete with the nose art on the cab. “Cab side art with the Grim Reaper, pays homage to how our enemies referred to this plane ... death from above.” The NAVY train was still on the layout, so I put the GP 9 right to work.

Last week, I posted a pic of Delaware Lackawanna C-420 405 over at Steamtown (pic is toward the top of this page). I have been in the process of getting all my trains organized in a database and one entry reminded me that I had purchased really nice Lionel model of the 405 from a special run done by Grzyboski’s back in 2019…

My Entries for this Friday Feast are screenshots of videos that I took from the Viewliner Sleeper on the Amtrak Silver Meteor trip that my wife and I took back home from New York to South Florida last month, October 14-15th.

First are blurry photos of NJ Transit Alstom PL42AC #4001 at Newark Penn Station.

Second, we have a PATH PA5 train south of Newark Penn Station.

Next is a view of the head of some Amtrak Avelia Liberty trainsets as we were entering Philadelphia 30th Street Station.

Finally, the AutoTrain at Jacksonville, FL being pulled by a Genesis P40DC #837 and Siemens Charger ALC-42 #346.
