Eddie,

Thanks for the countdown update. I missed this past October one, first one in 26 years of attending but I was so sick, there was no way I could even walk those halls. I ended up saving money for April and hopefully 2019 will be a much better year for my health than 2018 was. I received the good news from the neuro-radiologist that there was no aneurysm in my head so I am all clear for April 2019.

I'll be there Thursday and Friday.

BTW  EDDIE what is the weather for the week?

The weather at York is now always just fine, thank you. Once upon a time in a long ago world where the dinosaurs roamed, there were things called bandit meets which required a lack of rain for the vendors to come out of their caves. In our modern world, these bandit meets have largely disappeared and the vendors at the York show are indoors. So the WORST that happens is taht itmay be cold, you may see a snowflake or two (VERY rare) or you may get a little wet. IMO, a small price to pay for the joys of York. So Eddie, just tell tell them its always sunny in Pennsylvania.

I am now a snowbird, and it will be about 70 here today. I feel for you guys, and have been through that.

I might try to attend this Spring.  I'm sure you all needed to know that.....LOL

You live close enough! You should definitely go - there's nothing like it!

Greg, you're right.  We have been gifted a B&B not too far from York.  We have yet to book the dates.  SWMBO will work on that.  Friday would be the day we would attend.  I've only been to the York meet twice, I believe.  It is a sight to see !

My wife and I have already preregistered. This will be 14 straight. We love it. For years we wanted to go but me being a farmer would not allow because of harvest and planting always conflicting with the York dates. We have made many friends there and several have made the trip to Western Ky to visit my layout. The different manufacturers of things like turntables and bridges and buildings is where it is at for us. How to do scenery and make it realistic is where its at for me. If Lionel is not there is not a big deal. There is so much more to see and do .It's a 2 day drive for us to get to York but it's a lot of fun for us.

No rush. On Feb. 23 I'm going to the Allentown train show. In March we are taking the Silver Meteor to Florida for 3 weeks. THEN I go to York. In May, the Cresent to New Orleans for 2 nights, then the Sunset Limited to Arizona for a visit with my daughter's family.

Ah, retirement.

Sounds like you're living the rail-fan's  dream, Joe.
