It's been a busy week at the Thomas household as we welcomed the arrival of our first child. Henry made his arrival last Saturday just after midnight. So where are the train connections? The name Henry was partially picked after Henry Alden, one of the main characters from the book series The Boxcar Children. His middle name is Graham, reminds me of a guy named Graham Claytor. Of course his name is Mom approved, I just found the railroad connections He has already been to the basement to see the layout and seems to like watching the trains run. I'm sure as he grows you'll hear him pop into episodes of Notch 6. Just wanted to share with you all my exciting news.

Congratulations Derek.  May the sleepless nights begin.

The first 3 months or so can be pretty trying; sometimes it can make you feel like you're in the Twilight Zone.  But not to worry, beyond the first 3 months babies slowly climb out of that "baby fog," start to sleep more consistently, and become less eating, pooping, sleeping & crying machines.  Their personalities start to come out which is a really cool experience.

Anyway, congrats again on your new crew member!

Thanks John and everyone else! We are very lucky that Henry seems to be pretty low key. He slept a solid five hours last night before he needed to feed. Seems to be adjusting pretty well and only cries when he's hungry, needs changed, etc. I think the longest cry he has had so far is about 15 min. Fingers crossed that doesn't change. In fact he's passed out in his swing next to me while I type this. Life is good.
