For LionChief Plus Lovers:

"What are they doing in the Hyacinth House to feed the Lions, Yeah, this day."

From Hyacinth House by The Doors, sung by Jim Morrison.

The lions in the video are LC+ New Haven FA AA and LC+ New Jersey Central Pacific.

PS: Later on in the song, there is this great line of lyrics :

"Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away, why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away, it was the only card in the deck that I had left to play."

I like watching your videos Arnold.

A couple of things about the LC+ engines in the video immediately above.

Both engines smoke and sound great, run well and are great looking in my opinion. Both FA Diesel units generate plenty of smoke. Like all LC+ engines, the steamer and diesel have traction tires.

The NJ Central is a much better puller which I believe is because of its heft  due to being all metal. It can pull plenty of post war passenger cars or operating freight cars.

The NH FA diesels are adequate but not great pullers. One unit has 2 motors and the other is a dummy.  In the above video the diesels are comfortably pulling modern light weight freight cars, but would struggle pulling that many heavy postwar operating cars.

I have traditional tinplate O Gauge track with mostly 031 curves and 022 switches. The track and switches may impact the pulling power of these engines.

I am very happy with these engines. In addition to the above, they are very simple to run using the remote units and relatively economical compared to other modern engines.

Just to drag out a last Xmas video, after the tree was removed from the layout center, some visitors arrived to run trains for a bit.  My wife’s 53 y/o O27 Scout 242 freight, and the latest Lionchief PE with added diner and conductor cars.  We had a good time with this little layout last Xmas.
