I was told this is not possible unless running wires thru various Radio Shack parts. That method is not workable as the line is elevated and the infrastructure  is supposed to be mostly invisible . i heard of a method of "reversing the wires' on the gate but  I didn't get the details.  Thanks for any help Bigtrainguy.

If you are comfortable soldering and working with small components (diodes, etc.), here's a hijacked photo taken by member RJR from another thread where relay size matters - it's only 6mm thick or less than 1/4"!  That should fit in the cavity under a Fastrack section.

Alternatively, though I don't have a 30-11012 to look at, I wonder if you could find some nooks and crannies to fit this relay and the few additional components in the base of the crossing gate:

This is an older relay boards mounted near the control center.  Input from the isolated rail trips the gate.  Green is the isolated rail input.  From the relay, to the gate location, at least (6) wires required.  Share some commons, and may be (5) wires.
