I'm playing around with @SanDiegoMark's ADPCM Program for the MTH sound files. I was curious if its possible to add more station stops then the 9 that come with the PS2 subways? If so, how many could I add? The engine I'm working with is 20-80005a which has a PS2 3v board with stops on the D 6th Av (Brighton Beach) line. Also since MTH can't put the "Thank you for using the MTA" in their files anymore (This doesn't have it) could I add that too? Looks like the stops start at clip #80 and the respective transfers (if applicable) for each stops are in the 100 range.

I have used this program before an man is it cool to use. You may be able to replace certain sound with station stops, bit you have to make sure that those sounds are linked to a button on the controller. For instance, the engine sounds on the remote. Find one you don't like, and replace it.

I could, the thing is though, I want the station stops to be called out while in auto mode. Not just called be me using a soft key.

If that's what you wanted, I don't think that can be done. That is likely a coded set of files that can be changed.

Darn. I might still play with it and see if I can inject more stops. Looks like clips #80-89 are the stops so I think I can move them down a few spots and throw a few more in, whether they'll play or not (when in auto mode) is a different story. Maybe @gunrunnerjohn or @GGG might know?

I have tried to adjust automate sounds before, but with no success. I tried to extend the PFA sounds, but the train took off before it was over.

Did it take off like it (the PFA sounds) was over or did it take off at high speed? Another thing I'd like to do is add station stops (call outs) to my PRR E6 (20-3038-1)

It took off slowly like it was over and the whistle blew, bell rang etc. Adding call-out for your E6 is easy. Just use the soft keys. I changed the chuff sound on my K4 torpedo. I also used the software to change a PS2 5v sound set into a 3v sound set for my triplex.

Nice! I'll have to do that. The soft key sounds on my E6 are boring. I much prefer station call outs. Ideally, like with this subway, I'd prefer the stations to be called out in the PFA as well but not sure if adding them as soft key sounds adds them to the PFA. If not oh well.

I don't know how much you have explorered the software, but you can even create your own sounds or modify sounds. I created grade crossing whistles and even added my own voice to one of the trains. The next thing I am trying is adding a Lionel whistle.

Yeah, I knew you can modify sounds including crossing sounds (might try that on my E6) I didn't know you could add your own sounds. Got a video of that? Adding a lionel whistle would be cool!
Good news. I added 2 additional stops to the train and they work however, it cuts off one stop. Looks like I can only do 9. Bummer.

I figured that would happen, but definitely keep using the program.

I sure will. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Next thing I'll do is a crossing signal to my E6.

You think its possible to go the other way? ie from 3v to 5v, my E6 is a 5v engine and I tried a 3v xing sound and it didn't work in the engine when I played it.

Definitely

Cool. Email me at prr2100@gmail.com you can show me how. I really want a crossing signal on this engine.

I can email you, but basically, I just swap that 5v sounds I want into the 3v file, making sure I have enough space.

Cool. I'm wondering though if I can put a 3v crossing signal in my 5v engine. I tried earlier and it didn't work.

Oh right, the other way. I'm pretty sure you can. I can check tommorow and talk with you.

Sounds good. Thank you.
Wanting to do something like this makes me wonder what the extra space in the PS3 boards are/is used for? It's certainly not used for subway station stops since we still only have 9 in the PS3 sets. @GGG What is the extra space for?
Another monkey wrench. The 30-2727-1 R12 3 Av Shuttle set has 13 stops programmed into it but only the first 9 play. Any ideas why its like that?
