1) A long Island Railroad RS1, RS3, C-420, or C-Liner

2) Green or Blue Q-Type subway set (powered)

3) All from a vendor with a Website with Online Ordering

4) A vendor with updated online inventory

5) A vendor that does not take 48hrs or more to reply by email or phone

6) A vendor with a website that works

7) A vendor with a website that does more than show their address, email, and phone number with links back to MTH where I just found them.

8) A vendor that wants my money

This excludes the wobbly conventional RS-3 from the set Lionel released, ebay vendors who charge more for shipping than the item, or shill bid.

And also excludes any vendor who answers the phone and sounds like I am bothering them.

Chipset,

What you want is the old Lionel, Williams and Weaver Companies, when the girls answered the phones politely, the Techs helped with every problem and trains arrived

in tested complete working order.  Where you could walk into a good train store that had lots of inventory and the people knew what they were doing.

Unfortunately you can not turn back time to the 50's and 60's, the memories of those days at Christmas time were just incredible, I was lucky enough to be able to live

in such a time.

PCRR/Dave

One of those Great knowledgable Train shops with incredible people.

So... who's forcing you to order from those types of ghastly vendors?  There's plenty of good vendors out there, suggest you find them and use them.  Some are even OGR sponsors.  Some are small operations and this is their busiest time.  Recommend patience and understanding, and some Christmas spirit wouldn't hurt either.  What would Jesus do?

Merry Christmas.

Pete

What is forcing me not to order?

The same that is keeping Jesus from ordering during the biggest shopping days of the year...

Jesus would be upset that not only do they not carry what he would like to buy, but moreover that their websites are inaccurate, and that he cannot order anything because he wastes his time dealing with lousy inaccurate websites, owners of stores who don't even know what they have, and sound totally bored to be in business.

Making phone calls to verify and in every case, the sites do not match in store inventory nor do the folks on the phone care their websites and phone service stinks.

Jesus would say "If Trainworld and Nassau Hobby don't have it don't bother"!

That is my attitude as well, as based on the last several days only these 2 shops know what they are doing.

He would also flip their shelves in frustration and order them off the internet just as he did at the temple mount!

If you have a vendor you can count on please tell me who it is.

Merry Christmas to you too Pete, just venting here.

www.modeltrainstuff.com has a live inventory system and someone always answers the phone there.  Prices are great and website is awesome.

I have also done business with www.highcountryhobbies.com who goes by davidlloyd on ebay.  Again live inventory and top notch service.

The www.publicdeliverytrack.com is good as is legacy station although I have only ordered through legacy station on ebay.  I have heard decent things about www.grahamstrains.com as well.
