OK, I will submit myself the the inevitible ridicule---in the midst of a foot-deep snow storm---for announcing the annual Allentown (Pa) SPRING THAW Train Meet and OGR Forum Breakfast. Perhaps I should make TedsGG1 do the honors? But, here goes:

When: Saturday, February 22 beginning about 6:30 A.M.

Where: Hamilton Family Restaurant, Allentown, PA (just a few blocks from the Allentown Fairgrounds location of the meet)

GPS locator: 2027 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA 18104

Join us for food, fun and frivolity. Arrive at anytime. There is no 'beginning' of this event. We will have the prized "EARLY ADMISSION" tickets (same $7.00) which allow you into the Meet one hour earlier than the general public.

Please post here if you 'intend' to join us. It is not a commitment, but it helps us order the number of place settings in our special secret room at the HamFam.

Sorry to hear you're snowbound, Mike.  Hopefully you'll be able to dig yourself out in time for the breakfast next Saturday.  Two positive things to keep in mind:

1. The weather is expected to warm up during the coming week.

2.  Going to the breakfast gives you a chance to watch Chuck devour another round of Foo Foo Pancakes!

I'm even more distraught that I won't get see #2.  Hopefully there will be pictures.  (aka evidence)

The spring thaw can't come soon enough.  Train meet or otherwise!

Wish I could be there, but the weather and business demands (rescheduling has been really tough this year) have made it impossible.

Hope you all have a great time. Yes, a temperature approaching 50 will feel WONDERFUL !!!

And for those of you who aren't going to venture that far out of the NYC area, the NJ HiRailers have a public show on 2/23. Cost is $7, but that's less than the cost of a movie for great entertainment and companionship. Come and visit us. http://www.njhirailers.com/
