I'm trying to decide about going to the Allentown Spring Thaw (weather permitting).  How does it compare to the Big E or the NJ Greenburg show?  Has anyone been to both?  I am not that interested in Postwar, more interested in trains and layout building stuff.

Will you provide me with some info?

Thanks

I've been going to the Allentown show for decades, and I rank it WELL above any Greenburg show I've attended.  Haven't been to the Big E, but hope to one day.

As for this year... I'm planning to attend Allentown because of it's proximity (less than an hour's drive for me).  But honestly, with all the recent New Year dealer sales and blow-outs, I'm not sure if there will be any "real deals" left to be had.  Or more to the point... anything left to spend!!!

I have yet to find anything from their Amish Bakery that is not good. I usually try something new, and buy about 15 vanilla creme filled doughnuts.

As for the show, I would say that about 70% of everything there is O gauge, 15-20% is S, and the rest is all the other scales.
